The architectural practice of Herriot + Melhuish: Architecture Ltd (HMA) was formed in 1997 by principals Max Herriot and John Melhuish. The company was incorporated under the Companies Act on 12 July 1997. HMA is an innovative and design focused practice that has successfully worked on a variety of projects throughout New Zealand, including single residential and multi-unit developments, commercial building projects, art galleries and wineries.
Since mid-2001, Herriot + Melhuish: Architecture Ltd has collaborated with Ken Davis Architects on a number of projects including the new Nga Kaitiaki O Nga Taonga Whitiahua New Zealand Film Archive Mediaplex, Victoria of University Gymnasium Refurbishment, and 142 Featherston Street New Podium and Building Upgrade.
In January 2005, HMA opened new offices in Christchurch and Auckland, and is currently working on projects in other areas of the country including Nelson, and Wanaka. Herriot + Melhuish: Architecture Ltd is a Registered New Zealand Institute of Architects Practice.
