Relocatable home design competition
This competition is promoted by Architectural Profiles Ltd (APL) with the support of Built Smart and the New Zealand Institute of Architects. It is to design a relocatable home to be constructed for a cost not to exceed NZ$200,000 + GST ex the builder’s yard. The construction system should conform to design parameters compliant with the Built Smart system.
The design objectives of the competition are to design an affordable, prefabricated home of innovative conception and high design quality. The building should reflect a high standard of energy conservation and sustainability and be constructed of durable, low-maintenance materials.
The competition is intended to find a designer and a solution that will be documented for building consent and construction by Built Smart, with input from the winning team.
