Increasing and aging population - problem or opportunity?
By 2030, New Zealand’s social + built environment will change in dramatic ways. Our population is increasing and aging an additional 75,000 social + retirement housing units will be needed, there is a projected shortfall of 18,000 homes. Whilst this is a problem for our nation, it is also presents an opportunity: for prefabrication to come to the forefront and deliver affordable, high-quality housing utilizing innovative technology. Through combined efforts in three key areas: SCALE collaborating to improve consistency of workflow, LIABILITY clarifying the regulatory compliance process, SHOW-AND-TELL communicating prefab benefits to change perceptions we can deliver measurable and sustainable productivity outcomes to the New Zealand economy.
