KiwiBuild Summit returns to BuildNZ – Reserve your free seat today!
BuildNZ the nation’s largest and longest running pan industry exhibition will play host to the KiwiBuild Summit – a platform for the nations builders, designers, architects, planners and developers to better understand the Coalition’s vision – as well as those supplying the industry with products, services and technology.
This year’s KiwiBuild Summit theme centres around “Managing Risk, Reward and Relationships”. The agenda has been developed in collaboration with the industry after much consultation and is set to focus on a number of key areas with the underlying context being:
- The Construction Industry Accord, a pathway to collaboration and industry sustainability.
- When risk is shared, better outcomes are achieved i.e improved whole of life costs of buildings and well-being performance.
- Breaking down pre-conceptions around ROI and profit. Both are required for the market to operate optimally and sustainably.
The Summit will host individual panels with CEOs and leaders discussing (some with the relevant Ministers) Prefabrication, Multi-proofing & Tendering, Urban Planning & Infrastructure, Kiwibuild Standards, the new Housing Urban Development Authority, and Addressing Industry Skill Shortages.
The CPD approved Summit is an important forum for the Government to engage and communicate directly to the industry and get face to face with the people who together will allow the Government to build more and build better for the good of New Zealand. We’ll be using interactive smartphone event technology for the industry to post questions and live polling.
Collaboration, innovation and changing the traditional way of designing and building whilst maintaining quality design is at the forefront of achieving KiwiBuild and so much more. Today we are building for our future generations and in doing so we must ensure it’s a legacy of quality design, quality construction and one that’s sustainable for many years to come – BuildNZ and the KiwiBuild Summit plays an important part in determining that legacy.
Ministers Twyford and Salesa were extremely generous with their time using the Summit last year to make important Kiwibuild announcements and working through the issues with the industry and the organisers are excited to welcome them again.
In addition to Hon. Phil Twyford, Hon. Jenny Salesa (TBC) and Hon. Chris Wilkins (TBC) and the host Duncan Garner, the confirmed KiwiBuild Summit speakers include leaders from; Fletcher Building Residential & Development, NZIA, PrefabNZ, Lockwood Group, Auckland Council Design Office, Green Building Council, Panuku Development, Housing Urban Development Authority, Ngai Tahu Property, Property Council of NZ, H.L.C., Engineering NZ, Woods, BOINZ, Registered Master Builders, BCITO and NAWIC.
