Changing perceptions of modular homes - one car park at a time
July 2012
The perception of modular homes is being challenged by the Nextera LivingHome that's been plocked down in a bank's car park in an Ottawa, Canada.
The modular prefab house was transported in on a series of flatbed trucks and then craned into place. The fully fit out, wired and plumbed modules just needed to be "buttoned" up or joined together before the furniture arrived.
Other prefab homes have been built in the area but the location and public presence this home hold has gained it a lot of attention with thosands of people wondering just what a house is doing in the place their car should be.
Find out more about the house and how Canada is doing on the prefab front here.
