Abodo’s Vulcan timber panelling: perfect for interiors and exteriors
In this 1960’s brick house renovation, BDG Architects were looking for a natural timber ceiling lining that could continue to exterior soffit.
Where the original house lacked continuity and flow, the new raking ceiling was designed to connect the interior and exterior, at the same time maximising the spectacular cliff top views.
Used as a distinctive feature, Abodo’s Vulcan eco-timber panelling was used chosen for its:
- High stability and natural durability, allowing it to perform well in both exterior and interior applications. It’s also lightweight and easy to handle
- Warmth and natural straight grain appearance, introducing the rich colour of nature into the room
- Thermal modification properties, which means it’s free from chemical preservatives and solvents so it’s safe for people and the environment
- Green credentials - Vulcan timbers are FSC®-certified, sourced from rapidly renewable pine plantations grown right here in New Zealand
