Dr Mostafa Babaeian Jelodar is a researcher and a civil engineer with focus interest on prefabrication; modularisation, off-site construction and automation as a mean to improve constructability and buildability within the construction industry. Mostafa has received his PhD from the University of Auckland and is currently the programme leader and lecturer for Auckland University of Technology’s (AUT) construction engineering programme. Mostafa is the leader for off-site construction course which focuses on different prefabricated construction systems, whether elemental, panelised, volumetric or hybrid. The course is offered to construction engineering students and also has a focus on industrialisation and automation. He is involved in a range of multidisciplinary reasrch projects featuring prefabrication and off-site construction in addition to other areas such as construction procurement; construction innovation, New Technologies, productivity, operations research, and systems engineering. His publications appear in many well respected and world class journals and data bases such as the International Journal of Project Management, ASCE’s Journal of Management in Engineering, ASCE’s Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, ASCE’s Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction; ASCE’s Computing in Civil and Building Engineering, and Construction Economics and Building among others.
